- Be respectful. Don't post offensive, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, spammy, or infringing content, and don't impersonate anyone.
- Zero tolerance. We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users. We review and act on every report within 24 hours, and we remove content and suspend or remove accounts that break these Terms.
- You own your content, but you give us permission to host and display it so the app can work (for example, showing your reviews to other users).

1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Date Ideas Near Me ("Date Ideas Near Me," "we," "our," or "us") governing your use of the Date Ideas Near Me mobile application (the "Service").
By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, including by browsing anonymously without an account, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. When you sign up, log in, or are asked to sign up to save an idea, the screen says "By continuing, you agree to our Terms of service and Privacy policy". Continuing on that screen is your agreement to these Terms and the Privacy Policy, and we record the date you first agree. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Who we are
The Service is provided by:
Esrom Tecle, operating as an individual (sole trader), United Kingdom
Contact: hello@dateideasnearme.co
Company registration number: not applicable (operated by an individual)
3. Eligibility (18+)
The Service is intended for people who are 18 years of age or older, because it suggests dates that include alcohol and gambling venues. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18. When you sign up, we ask for your date of birth before your profile is saved; if the date is under 18, the account just created is deleted straight away and you cannot go any further. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will terminate the account and delete the associated data.
You also represent that you are not barred from using the Service under the laws of any applicable jurisdiction, and that you are not located in, or a national or resident of, any country or on any list that would make your use of the Service unlawful (see Section 21).
4. Your account
Anonymous use. You can browse date ideas without an account. Some features (such as saving ideas, writing reviews, planning dates, linking a partner, and reporting content) require you to create an account.
Creating an account. You can register with an email and password, or with Google or Apple sign-in. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. We do not require email verification, so please make sure the email you use is one you control: it is used for account recovery and important notices. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms, including our zero-tolerance rules on objectionable content and abusive behaviour in Section 8.
Account security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at hello@dateideasnearme.co if you suspect unauthorised use of your account. You may not share your account, or transfer it to anyone else, without our permission.
One account per person. You agree not to create multiple accounts to abuse features (for example, to inflate affiliate clicks, evade a block, or manipulate reviews).
5. What the Service does
Date Ideas Near Me helps you:
- discover and search curated date ideas across "Experiences," "At Home," and "Long Distance" views;
- save ideas to a personal or shared bucketlist;
- plan multi-stop dates;
- keep a private timeline of dates you've been on;
- write and read reviews;
- link with a partner to share bucketlists, timelines, and partner-matching; and
- follow booking or purchase links for ideas that offer them.
The Service is currently free to use. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may introduce paid features or clearly labelled sponsored content in the future. If we introduce paid features, we will present the applicable terms and pricing before you incur any charge.
6. Affiliate links, bookings, and third-party venues
Affiliate disclosure. Some booking or purchase links in the Service are affiliate links. This means we may earn a commission or other compensation if you book or buy through them, at no additional cost to you. Sponsored placements, if and when we introduce them, will be clearly labelled as sponsored, consistent with applicable advertising rules (including US FTC and UK ASA guidance).
Third-party venues and providers. Date ideas describe venues, activities, products, and experiences offered by independent third parties, not by us. We do not own, operate, or control these venues or providers. Details such as prices, opening hours, availability, policies, and accuracy are supplied by third parties (and, in some cases, kept up to date with automated assistance), and they can change or be incorrect. Any booking, purchase, or transaction you make is directly between you and the third party, on their terms. We are not a party to that transaction and are not responsible for it. You are responsible for verifying details and for your own safety when meeting people or attending venues.
7. User content and your licence to us
"User content" means anything you submit to the Service: for example, reviews, reactions, timeline entries, notes, "favourite moments," planned dates, photos, feedback, and date-idea suggestions.
You keep your rights. You retain ownership of your User content.
Licence to us. To operate the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable licence to host, store, reproduce, modify (for example, to resize or format), publish, publicly display, and distribute your User content for the purpose of operating, providing, and improving the Service, including displaying your reviews and profile name/photo to other users, and displaying content you share with a linked partner. This licence lasts for as long as your content is on the Service and for a reasonable period afterward while backups cycle out; aggregated or de-identified information derived from your content may be retained.
Your responsibilities and representations. You are solely responsible for your User content. You represent and warrant that: (a) you own it or have the necessary rights to submit it and grant the licence above; (b) it does not violate these Terms, any law, or any third party's rights (including privacy, publicity, and intellectual-property rights); and (c) any people shown or identified in your content have consented as required by law.
We may remove content. We may review, refuse, remove, or restrict access to any User content that we believe violates these Terms or the law, or that is otherwise objectionable, at our discretion. We are not obligated to store or back up your content. Please keep your own copies of anything important.
8. Acceptable use
Zero tolerance. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. By creating an account, you agree not to post objectionable content and not to abuse, harass or threaten anyone through the Service. Objectionable content includes everything described in the list below.
You agree that you will not, and will not allow anyone else to, use the Service to:
- post or share content that is offensive, harassing, threatening, hateful, defamatory, obscene, or sexually explicit, or that promotes violence or discrimination;
- harass, bully, stalk, intimidate, or harm another person, including a current or former partner;
- impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
- post spam, chain messages, or unsolicited promotional content, or manipulate reviews, ratings, popularity signals, or affiliate-click tracking;
- post content that is false, misleading, or fraudulent, including fake reviews;
- infringe anyone's intellectual-property, privacy, or publicity rights, or share someone's private or personal information without permission;
- upload viruses or malicious code, or attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or compromise the Service or its security;
- attempt to access accounts, data, or areas you are not authorised to access, or probe, scan, or scrape the Service or its content except as expressly permitted;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law;
- use the Service to collect or harvest other users' information, or for any unlawful, infringing, or harmful purpose; or
- circumvent any access controls, rate limits, blocking, moderation, or age-gating measures.
If you break this section, we will remove the content, and we may suspend your account or remove it permanently (see Section 18).
9. Content moderation, reporting, and blocking
The Service includes user-generated content. To help keep it safe:
- Reporting. You can report a review or a date idea using the in-app "Report" option, choosing a reason (for a review: offensive, spam, inappropriate, harassment or other; for a date idea, reasons such as wrong or outdated information). Every report is stored for our team to review.
- How we act on reports. We review reports and act on them within 24 hours. If the reported content breaks these Terms, we remove it, and we suspend or remove the account of the person who posted it, depending on how serious the breach is.
- Word filter. Review text is checked by an automatic word filter when you post it, and a review that contains a word on our blocked list is not published.
- Blocking. You can block another person. The App then stops showing each of you the other's reviews, and blocking is not disclosed to the person you block. You can see, and unblock, the people you have blocked under Blocked people in Settings.
- What we cannot do. We cannot check everything before it appears: reviews that pass the word filter are published straight away, so we rely on your reports to find content that breaks these Terms. Moderation decisions can be wrong. If you think we have made a mistake, email us at hello@dateideasnearme.co.
10. Partner and couple features
If you link with a partner, you and your partner gain access to shared features (for example, a shared bucketlist, shared timeline, and partner matching). By linking, you understand that:
- content you share with the group becomes visible to your linked partner;
- your individual swipe choices are not revealed: only mutual matches are shown;
- when you or your partner unlinks, shared access ends for both of you: each of you keeps the memories and plans you made, and neither of you can see the other's any more. If you link with the same person again, the memories and plans you shared before become visible to both of you again; and
- if your partner deletes their account, content they created and shared is removed, and shared features become unavailable.
You are responsible for choosing who you link with and what you choose to share. Only link with people you trust.
11. Our intellectual property
The Service, including the app, curated date-idea content, text, graphics, logos, design, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service or its content, except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
"Date Ideas Near Me" and our logos are our trademarks. You may not use them without our prior written permission. Third-party names and marks (for example, venues and providers) belong to their respective owners.
12. Third-party services
The Service relies on and links to third-party services, including our infrastructure and sign-in providers (such as Supabase, Google, and Apple), mapping (Google Maps), email delivery (Resend), and push-notification delivery (Expo, Apple APNs, and Google FCM). It also links out to third-party venue and booking websites. Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, and including a link or integration does not imply our endorsement.
13. Push notifications and communications
If you enable push notifications, you agree we may send you notifications related to the Service, such as date reminders, partner activity, matches, and the Weekly Date Drop. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings. We may also send you transactional or service messages by email (for example, password resets and account-deletion confirmations); these are part of the Service and are not marketing. Any marketing communications will be sent only where permitted, and you can opt out of them.
14. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your information. By using the Service, you acknowledge that we process your information as described there.
15. Disclaimers ("as is")
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- The Service and all content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
- We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any date-idea information, price, availability, venue detail, review, or recommendation is accurate, complete, current, or reliable.
- We are not responsible for third-party venues, providers, products, experiences, or websites, or for any interaction, booking, purchase, or in-person meeting you undertake. You use the Service, attend venues, and meet people at your own risk, and you are responsible for your own safety.
- Any material you access through the Service is accessed at your own discretion and risk.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We (and our officers, directors, employees, and suppliers) will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
- We will not be liable for any harm arising from third-party venues, providers, bookings, purchases, or interactions with other users.
- Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us, if any, for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) GBP 100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
17. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Date Ideas Near Me and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or connected with: (a) your User content; (b) your use of the Service; (c) your violation of these Terms or any law; or (d) your violation of any third party's rights. We may assume the exclusive defence of any matter subject to indemnification, in which case you agree to cooperate with us.
18. Termination and account deletion
Your right to stop. You may stop using the Service at any time. You can permanently delete your account and data from Profile → Account settings → Delete account in the app, or, if you can no longer access the app, by emailing hello@dateideasnearme.co from the address on your account. Deletion follows a 14-day grace period, during which you can cancel; after that, your data is permanently deleted as described in the Privacy Policy. Our Delete your account page explains both ways to delete.
Our right to suspend or terminate. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, remove content, or close your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or the law, or to protect the Service or other users. Where practical and lawful, we will give you notice.
Effect of termination. On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive it. These include the User content licence (as to content already shared), intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, and general terms.
19. Changes to the Service and to these Terms
The Service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time. We may also push updates to the app. We are not liable to you for changes to, or suspension or discontinuation of, the Service, to the extent permitted by law.
These Terms. We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by another appropriate method and update the "Last updated" date above. Changes take effect when posted (or on a later stated date). Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.
20. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service are governed by the laws of England & Wales, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Nothing in this section deprives you of any protection you have under the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence.
21. App store additional terms (Apple and Google)
If you download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, you also agree to that store's terms, and the following applies.
These Terms are between you and us, not the app store. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or its content.
Apple-specific terms. To the extent you obtained the app from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge and agree that:
- These Terms are between you and us only, not Apple. Your licence to use the app is a limited, non-transferable licence to use it on any Apple-branded device you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. We (not Apple) are solely responsible for support, to the extent stated in these Terms.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product-liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer-protection claims.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for investigating and resolving any third-party claim that the app or your use of it infringes that third party's intellectual-property rights.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo (or designated as "terrorist supporting"), and you are not on any US Government restricted-party list.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance, Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Google Play-specific terms. To the extent you obtained the app from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service, and, where those terms conflict with these Terms as to the app store relationship, the Google Play terms govern that relationship.
22. General terms
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
- Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect, and the unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them, for example in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- No agency. These Terms do not create any partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and us.
- Force majeure. We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- Notices. We may provide notices to you through the Service or by email. You may contact us as set out below.
