This page explains how to delete your account in Date Ideas Near Me, the mobile app for finding, saving and planning dates. The app is provided by:

There are two ways to delete your account. Both lead to the same result, described below.

Option 1: Delete your account in the app

1. Open Date Ideas Near Me and sign in.
2. Go to Profile, then Account settings, then Delete account.
3. Tap Delete my account, then Yes, delete my account.

If you sign in with Apple, Apple asks you to confirm it is you. When you delete your account this way, we also ask Apple to remove the app's access to your Apple ID.

Option 2: Delete your account without the app

If you no longer have the app, or you cannot sign in, email hello@dateideasnearme.co from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will reply to confirm with you before we schedule the deletion.

What happens next: 14 days to change your mind

• Your account is scheduled for deletion 14 days after you ask.
• Until then, everything is still there and you can keep using the app.
• To cancel, sign in to the app within those 14 days and tap Keep my account on your Profile.
• After the 14 days, your account and its content are permanently erased and cannot be recovered.

What is deleted

When the 14 days are up, we permanently delete the following from our live systems:

• your account and profile, including your preferences;
• your saved date ideas;
• your timeline entries;
• your reviews;
• your planned dates;
• your uploaded photos;
• your activity in the app: your swipes, the ideas you viewed and the booking links you tapped;
• the analytics linked to your account ID (we ask our analytics provider to delete them, and it completes the deletion on its own schedule);
• the feedback you sent us;
• the reports you made about other people's content;
• the people you blocked;
• your device's push notification token; and
• your group memberships, including your link with a partner.

If you are linked with a partner, they lose access to your shared bucketlist and timeline, and the content you created and shared is removed. We do not notify them.

What we keep, and why

We keep only the following, as set out in our Privacy Policy:

• Backups. Copies in our database provider's backups are overwritten on that provider's schedule.
• Reports about you. If other people reported your content, we keep those reports as moderation records, without your name attached.
• Safety and legal records. Certain records may be kept for longer, in minimal or anonymised form, where we have a legal or safety reason to do so: for example, records needed to prevent fraud or meet legal obligations.
• Diagnostic data. Crash and error reports can include your account ID (for example, in the web addresses the app was contacting, or in a report about a failed deletion), but they are not removed when you delete your account. They are kept for as long as our crash-reporting provider retains them under our plan with them.
• Analytics not linked to you. Usage recorded on a phone where you never signed in to your account is not linked to you, so it cannot be found to delete it. It is kept for as long as our analytics provider retains it under our plan with them.
